What are volcanoes?
A volcano is a mountain that has a hole on the top. Under the volcano there is an opening to a little pool of melted rock/molten rock which is under the surface of the earth. When a volcano erupts that is when it builds pressure.
How are volcanoes formed?
Volcanoes form when the earth’s upper mantle makes it’s way to the earth’s surface. When it reaches the surface, it erupts and forms lava flows and ash deposits. When it keeps on erupting, the volcano gets bigger and bigger.
Different types of volcanoes:
-Composite Volcanoes
Composite volcanoes are volcanoes that have cinders and a lava flow. Lava flows aren’t spread everywhere in the volcano. The lava flows aren’t big but it is also goes through the middle of the volcano.
-Cinder Cone Volcano:
Cinder Cone VOlcanoes are volcanoes that don’t have lava flows but they still have cinders. The name really gives it away.
-Shield Volcano:
Shield Volcanoes are volcanoes that have no cinders, Only lots of lava flows. These lava flows are like the Composite Volcanoes but Shield Volcanoes have more lava flows.
What destruction do volcanoes cause?
Volcanoes cause very bad damage to structures, buildings, wildlife, the atmosphere, human beings and many more things. Volcanoes can spit out lots of burning ashes. When the ashes land on something that would be most likely to break.
