Girl: What is Wind Power and why is it important?
Boy:That is a good question! Well, wind power is a power that is harnessed by the wind. Wind power turns wind into useful energy. Wind Power can be harnessed in many ways. Windmills create mechanical energy and Wind Turbines generate electricity. The importance of wind power is that it produces more and more energy and electricity that we can use. Did you know that small wind turbines’ energy is used to charge batteries and it is also used for backup energy for caravans and for ships? Wind Turbines also have 3 large blades.
Girl: That’s very interesting! but how do wind turbines work and how do they make electricity?
Boy: Wind Turbines have 3 blades right?
Girl: Yes…
Boy: Yeah. Those 3 blades spin 2 or 3 times. They spin around a rotor. The rotor is connected to a main shaft which makes the Wind Turbine create electricity. Pretty cool right?
Girl: Wow! That is amazing! Thanks for telling me. I learnt so much!
