A boy and his teacher

“John, this is your test paper. Lets go through the things you didn’t get correct. There’s quite a few!” I hear a teacher say. The teacher flaps the paper in the air. A little boy sits down on a blue and squishy couch next to his teacher. As I watch him sink into the blue couch, the teacher begins to talk in his deep voice.

I look at John’s bored face as he looks into the teachers eyes. His chin rests on his palm just like any bored person would do. John is wearing a wrinkled green and white striped shirt. His hair has tight curls that don’t spike up. The unorganised paint equipment is like an untidy bedroom that hasn’t been cleaned for months! The cars and traffic overtake the sound of the conversation but it isn’t bothering me.

While the chat of the two go on, I wonder about how many poor children in the world that don’t go to schools to get great education. Do they really wish to get the best education they can get or do they just push it aside?
