Holver and The Giant
Long ago there once lived a boy named Holver. Holver lived with his parents and he was the only child. He was a little smart, very lazy, sly and adventurous. His house was a little brick house near the river. Holver was a boy that would not want to do any job except for shooting wild boar.
One day Holver and his parents went on a trip to Mt. Cartonele (traveling there by foot). While they were a third of their journey they stopped to have a rest. As you know Holver was adventurous so while his parents were resting and trying catch their breath,he went on his own little journey in the woods. While he was enjoying his time he heard men roaring with laughter. He turned, being careful that he wouldn’t make a sound and he walked closer to where the sound was coming from. When he cleared his way to see who was making the noise,he realised that the huge noise was made from 2 giants. They were having a little chat on a huge tree stump. The giants were the ugliest creatures that Holver and seen in his whole life. They had fat noses that was bright red. Next to Holver there was a very spiky plant and when a thought rushed into Holver’s mind,a cheeky smile appeared on his face. He carefully picked the spiky plant and aimed it to one of the giants. Holver threw the plant and it landed on the right spot he wanted it to go,the eye of the tallest giant. “Yoycheeze!!!! what was that? I can’t see! No seriously I can’t blink”. The giant screamed in pain until his friend caught Holver giggling and rolling on the ground. “HEY YOU,YOU UGLY FOOL!!” Holver froze, not daring to stare. Sweat slid down his frightened face. “COME HERE YOU FISH HEAD!” the giant shouted. Holver walked closer to the giant. “Please don’t kill me! I’m too young to die. Spare my life!! ” He begged and wept. “WE AREN’T GOING TO KILL YOU FLAPPY EARS! WE’RE GOING TO THROW YOU UP TO THAT HUGE ROOK SO THAT YOU CAN KILL PRINCESS!” said the giant. He took Holver in his giant palms and chucked him up. “OKAY...NOW GO TO THE GRAND HALL AND ATTACK THE PRINCESS. SHE’S PROBABLY IN HER ROYAL ROOM!” shouted the giant. Holver ran in the rook and went room to room. In one room he found a sword like pin and beside that pin there was a little note saying ‘to who ever finds the princess and saves her with this pin. You can only take this pin if you press the button on the wall. If you save the princess, you will be awarded with...’ Holver couldn’t understand the other words from the sentence because they were smudged which was a shame. He quickly pressed the button and took the pin and held it in his right hand. Finally he found the princess’ room and found that she was a true beauty. He had never set eyes on such sparkly eyes. BANG! BANG! “OPEN UP!” shouted the giants. “OR ELSE I’LL BREAK YOUR BONES!”
“Come through the doggy entrance!” said Holver. Holver opened the doggy entrance for the giants. The giants crawled and tried to squeeze through the hole. Holver stepped forward and stabbed both of the giants in their heart. Holver heard the King’s footsteps coming closer and he quickly took the pin out of the giant’s body and ran away. When the king saw the dead giants and questioned everyone in the rook palace. No-one admitted that they did it so the king ordered his soldiers to knock on everyone’s door and ask if they had killed the giants of Mt Cartonele. By then Holver and his parents had settled in a house near the rook palace and when the soldiers knocked on their front door and asked if Holver had killed the giants, Holver said yes and showed the soldier the pin. A few weeks later he visited the palace so that he could bring back the pin. He soon married the princess and they lived happily ever after.
