Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

This book is about a girl named Alice. The story begins in Alice’s garden. She is sitting on the tree waiting for something fun to happen because her sister is sitting on the grass reading a book that has no conversations or pictures. While Alice sits on the tree filled with boredom, she slowly dozes off to sleep. But when she wakes up, she sees a white rabbit in fancy clothes. With a tidy coat and a golden watch on his paw. She hears him mutter “Oh no! I am late. The Duchess wouldn’t want that!” He then hurries off and goes down a big rabbit hole. Alice follows the white rabbit and to her surprise, she jumps down the rabbit hole too. When she finds herself falling for a very long time she looks at the different things on different shelves. When her fall ends, she lands with a thump. In the middle of the book, Alice finds a way to enter Wonderland. In Wonderland she meets peculiar creatures such as the Mad Hatter that thinks it is always tea time, the Dormouse, the Cheshire Cat and many other things. At the end, Alice gets back to her normal world.

My favourite character in this book is the Mad Hatter. He isn’t there all the time in the book but he is the character that has most of the humor especially because he goes mad. Though he is kind of annoying when he has conversations with Alice. I enjoyed reading this book because he is a very peculiar person because his watch always shows that it is teatime.

I rate this book 9 out of 10. I recommend this book to children ages 7 and above. This book would be great for children that love imagining things that aren’t real. I also recommend this book to children that love classic stories.
